Train the Way Crisis Actually Happens.
Project SHIELD 360 De Escalate is a scenario-driven simulation system built for the professionals who respond when everything is on the line. Not a lecture. Not a slideshow. A training environment that puts you inside the crisis.
Not a Lecture. A Simulation.
SHIELD 360 replaces passive instruction with active decision-making. Participants navigate branching scenarios drawn from documented real-world events, receive real-time feedback, and build the muscle memory that transfers to the field.
Train on the Crises That Actually Happen.
SHIELD 360's simulation engine places participants inside realistic, branching crisis scenarios drawn from documented real-world events. Every decision changes the outcome. Every outcome generates feedback. Participants learn not just what the right response is, but why, and they experience the consequences of the wrong one in a safe, controlled environment.
Mental Health Crisis
Scenarios involving acute psychiatric episodes, suicidal ideation, severe anxiety, and emotional dysregulation. Participants learn to recognize the signs, de-escalate safely, and connect individuals to appropriate care without escalating to force.
Psychotic Break
High-complexity scenarios involving active psychosis, paranoid delusions, and disorganized behavior. Training focuses on communication approaches that reduce perceived threat, maintain safety, and avoid triggering further escalation.
Autism Spectrum Incidents
Scenarios involving individuals with autism spectrum disorder in crisis, including sensory overload, meltdowns, and communication barriers. Participants learn to adapt their approach, reduce environmental stressors, and avoid misreading behavior as non-compliance.
Dementia & Cognitive Decline
Scenarios involving individuals experiencing dementia-related confusion, agitation, and disorientation. Training develops the communication techniques and environmental awareness needed to de-escalate safely without physical intervention.
Substance-Related Crisis
Scenarios involving acute intoxication, withdrawal, and substance-induced behavioral crises. Participants learn to assess risk, communicate effectively under pressure, and coordinate with medical and behavioral health resources.
Trauma Response & PTSD
Scenarios involving individuals in acute trauma response or living with PTSD. Training builds awareness of trauma triggers, trauma-informed communication, and de-escalation approaches that avoid re-traumatization.
Domestic Violence & Intimate Partner Crisis
Scenarios involving active domestic disturbances, intimate partner violence, and high-tension household calls. Training develops threat assessment skills, victim-centered communication, and de-escalation techniques that reduce lethality risk.
Juvenile & Youth Crisis
Scenarios involving minors in behavioral crisis, school-based incidents, and youth experiencing acute distress. Participants learn age-appropriate communication, trauma-informed approaches, and coordination with school and family systems.
Homeless & Housing-Unstable Individuals
Scenarios involving individuals experiencing homelessness, encampment interactions, and crisis calls in public spaces. Training builds skills in harm reduction communication, resource connection, and avoiding unnecessary criminalization.
Suicidal Crisis & Threat Assessment
Scenarios involving individuals expressing suicidal ideation, self-harm, or making credible threats. Participants practice structured risk assessment, active listening under pressure, and safe messaging protocols.
Excited Delirium & Medical Emergency
Scenarios involving individuals in states of extreme agitation, disorientation, or medical distress that may be misread as non-compliance. Training focuses on recognizing medical urgency, minimizing force, and coordinating emergency medical response.
Cultural & Language Barrier Incidents
Scenarios involving communication breakdowns due to language differences, cultural misunderstandings, or distrust of authority. Participants develop culturally responsive communication strategies and learn to access interpretation resources in the field.
The AI That Puts You in the Scenario.
The simulation engine uses voice-driven, branching scenario technology to place participants inside realistic crisis events. Every response you give changes what happens next. Every outcome is analyzed and fed back to you in real time.
- Voice-driven branching scenarios that respond to participant decisions
- Real-time feedback on communication approach, tone, and escalation risk
- Repeat practice on any scenario until competency is demonstrated
- Session data feeds directly into the dual-expert debrief process
Full simulation access is available to enrolled participants. Complete your enrollment to unlock the training environment.
What You Leave With.
Every module is designed to build a specific, measurable competency. Participants complete the program with skills they can apply immediately.
Crisis Recognition
Identify behavioral, verbal, and environmental indicators of crisis before escalation occurs.
Adaptive Communication
Adjust language, tone, and approach in real time based on the individual and the situation.
Decision-Making Under Pressure
Apply the SHIELD 360 framework in high-stress, time-compressed scenarios.
Inter-Agency Coordination
Coordinate effectively with behavioral health, medical, and community resources during and after a crisis.
Stress Composure
Maintain professional composure and situational awareness when conditions are volatile.
Documentation & Debrief
Document crisis interactions accurately and participate in structured debrief to reinforce learning.
Built for How Your Agency Actually Trains.
SHIELD 360 is available in three delivery formats to fit your agency's schedule, staffing, and operational requirements.
Asynchronous
Self-paced online delivery. Participants complete modules independently on their own schedule, with full access to the simulation engine and scenario library.
- Fully self-paced
- Available 24/7
- Ideal for large cohorts or distributed agencies
Hybrid
Online simulation combined with live facilitated sessions. Participants complete scenario modules independently, then debrief with instructors in scheduled group sessions.
- Combines async simulation with live debrief
- Policy adaptation included
- Recommended for most agencies
In-Person
Full on-site delivery with SHIELD 360 certified instructors. Includes direct policy adaptation, live scenario facilitation, and the complete dual-expert debrief process.
- On-site certified instructors
- Full policy and jurisdiction adaptation
- Highest engagement and retention outcomes
Four Phases. One Complete System.
The curriculum is organized into four sequential phases, each building on the last. Participants move from foundational knowledge through advanced simulation, systems integration, and formal assessment.
Core concepts, framework introduction, and crisis recognition fundamentals.
Scenario-based training across all six crisis types. Branching decision practice with real-time feedback.
Inter-agency coordination, documentation protocols, and community resource integration.
Scenario-based final assessment and dual-expert debrief. Certification pathway completion.
Program Completion Leads to Certification.
Participants who complete all 12 modules and pass the scenario-based assessment are eligible for SHIELD 360 De Escalate certification. Agencies may also pursue organizational certification for their full cohort.
View Certification Details- Individual certification upon module completion and assessment
